Why Has My Rat Become So Popular?

Please tell me why in the past couple days I've got over 300 people visit The Nightwatchman to have a look at this picture.

The popular little bugger was originally featured here.

Just saw a couple from Maryland, US get here for googling "rat". My page is right up there for doing a google image search for rats.

But why now all of a sudden?

If you came here searching for rats, please tell me why.

I didn't come here searching for rats but there was a news story yesterday saying scientists had proved that rats laugh. Lazy journos/bloggers then image search rat on google and whoila nightwatchman.

I was looking for an image of a rat - 2008 is the year of the rat apparently :)

"First in the cycle of 12 Animal signs, Rat Year begins the sequence and recurs every twelfth year. It is a time of renewal in so many ways. From New Year to Valentine's Day, to the arrival of spring, may all the blessings and delights of the New Year be yours"

All sounds good eh? Rat year indeed . . . . :)))))))

think you got your answer. Today is the first day (Thursday is what it is here in Canada when I am writing this) of the year of the rat.
And I came across this post second.
cheers

I needed a picture of a rat for a note in my facebook... because I just chased a big rat out of my kitchen, and then loungeroom... it was very scary.

but crisis averted my flatmate came home and actually did something more productive than me (i.e. actually lifting the dvd cabinet so that the rat could run out from underneath) not just push the cabinet very hard and making loud noises......

I called the rat "motherfucking huge"
Matt called it "a bit bigger than a mouse"

I scoff at that notion!!!

I'm here because my daughter (2) has a toy mouse that's so big we call him Rat, and every now and then we are asked to call up rat pictures on the computer. You are at the top of google images for rat...
